As a primary air filter material, PET/PP filter media is made from polyester (PET), polypropylene (PP), or a combination of these synthetic fibers, depending on the required material structure and application. The fibrous structure provides basic particle filtration and helps capture airborne dust and other coarse contaminants before air passes through downstream filtration stages.
PET/PP filter media offers practical advantages such as lightweight construction, moisture resistance, and good dimensional stability. Its heat resistance and chemical resistance depend on the fiber composition, material grade, and manufacturing process. Antibacterial treatments can also be incorporated into the filter media when additional surface hygiene functionality is required.
This synthetic fiber filter material is suitable for use as a pre-filter or primary filtration layer in air purifiers, air conditioning systems, HVAC equipment, and fresh air ventilation units. It can also be combined with HEPA media, activated carbon materials, and other functional filter layers to develop multi-stage air filtration products.
As a customizable air filtration material, PET/PP filter media can be supplied in different thicknesses, densities, basis weights, and dimensions to meet specific filtration efficiency, airflow, and equipment design requirements.
